Washington
Washington is the nation's top apple-producing state, so it is appropriate that the apple was named a state symbol in 1989, the centennial year. From the beautiful blossoms of spring, to the heavily laden branches in autumn, the apple trees of eastern Washington represent one of the largest industries in the state. The Washington apple is certainly one of the most recognized symbols of the state worldwide.

Sheffield Vintage Dry Sparkling Cider

The folks at Sheffield Cider have blended semi-sweet apples with an extra measure of tannins to produce a subtle astringent flavor. Tannins? Astrigent? Say what? Astringency from the tannins is what causes the dry and puckery feeling in the mouth! The result is a cider that is excellent when served at meals and which enhances the flavors of your menu selections.

Sheffield Apple-Cherry Sparkling Cider

Have you ever looked at a desert menu and seen all those exotic (often alcoholic) drinks? Well, Sheffield Ciders now has a non-alcoholic version. Their gourmet apple-cherry combines the flavor of a homemade tart cherry pie with sweet heirloom apples. Now that's a dessert cider that will need a festive goblet and maybe a small square of Hershey's Extra Dark Chocolate. Best enjoyed with friends!

Sheffield Heirloom Winter Pearman Sparkling Cider

Sheffield Ciders of Washington State has introduced Winter Pearmain Cider as part of its Heirloom varieties. This apple is speculated to be of eastern United States origin, and was recorded in 1849, but others claim it is an English apple that dates to 1200 A.D. The yellowish-white flesh of this dessert apple is crisp, juicy and tender. Enjoy a sophisticated, delicate flavor with a light touch of sparkle that does not knock you over with sweetness or tartness!
