Virginia
Thanks to the efforts of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and others, Virginia's Colonial Period encouraged the planting of apple trees and vineyards. The landscape and climate of Virginia offers countless choice sites for vineyards. Each of the state’s five main land regions – the Appalachian Plateau, the Appalachian Ridge and Valley Region, the Blue Ridge, the Piedmont, and the Atlantic Coastal Plain – boasts vineyards. Today, Virginia ranks among the top ten U.S. apple producers and has more than 2,000 acres of vineyards.

Sparkling Chambourcin Grape Juice, Oakencroft Farms

Oakencroft Vineyard and Winery, established in 1983, pioneered the Virginia wine industry. But an ownership change in 2008 sent the company on a new path -- premium grape juice. One of its newest gifts to each of us is its sparkling Chambourcin, pressed from grapes harvested at the peak of flavor. As you sip this gently carbonated juice, you may taste luscious notes of black cherry and fresh berries.

Sparkling Seyval Blanc, Oakencroft Farms

Oakencroft Farms, producer of premium grape juices, has blended its signature Seyval Blanc and Traminette grapes with a gentle carbonation to create a perfectly blended Sparkling juice. The festive result is an all-natural juice with a hint of citrus and ripe pears. For some of us, Seyval Blanc is one of our favorite white grapes!
This juice is lovingly bottled by hand rather than by machine!

Traminette Grape Juice, Oakencroft Farms

Established in 1983, Oakencroft Vineyard and Winery was a pioneer in the Virginia wine industry. In 2008, Oakencroft passed into new hands, and now makes premium grape juice instead of wine. Their Traminette juice is flowery, aromatic, and thoroughly delicious. This lively white grape varietal is satisfying sweet, with high notes of ripe Bosc pears, balanced with lemony undertones.

Mount Vernon Sparkling Mulled Cider

President George Washington and him family were cider lovers, as guests discovered when they visited the Mount Vernon Estate. In 1774 records indicate the family purchased no less than 477 gallons. Washington also made his own cider, probably at River Farm, one of the five adjacent farms which formed the estate. Today's Mount Vernon cider, offered in a green champagne-style bottle with a red foil neck wrap, is lightly mulled in flavor.

Monticello Sparkling Cider

Cider was one of Thomas Jefferson's preferred beverages and his own orchards yielded a delightful variety of apples: Hewes Crab, Golden Wilding, and Taliaferro. Virginia cider, a non-alcoholic beverage that he compared to a silky champagne, was his favorite. Now you can enjoy Monticello Cider, a unique blend that is still created and bottled in Jefferson's Virginia.
