The Noble muscadine was released in 1973 by W. Nesbitt, D. Carroll, and V. Underwood of the North Carolina Agricultural Experiment Station. It is the primary red muscadine cultivar used in good quality juice and wine production. It is a highly productive, vigorous, self fertile cultivar. It's black fruit is small in size and is used in processing rather than in table use.
